Right??
I thought AVID did a complete re-write on V8.

There is no such thing as complete rewrite. What it meant was going through every line of code and make it compatible.

anyone else?
for those interested, i rolled back to 2023.6 and the problem went away.
to reiterate:
in 2023.9 - after committing any track or bouncing a mix, the entire song goes out of time like delay compensation got wacked out. close and reopen the session and everything's fine again. 2023.6 fixed the issue. i'm 5 days into a support ticket (giving them lots of info, PT files, example videos, etc) with only 1 response as of yet. anyone else having this issue?

2023.9 has been a bit of a struggle.

Protools stopped seeing Carbon. The new Carbon Central
didn't install cleanly and had to re-start it. Avid Link kept
saying "Installing..." and log-jammed any other installs. Had
to remove the installer, download another and install.

The latest bummer is that it's stuck doing
"Initializing Libary Contents" ..

I removed my preferences folder . but still stuck

in "Initializing Library Content" . any ideas?

Do you only use one Carbon, or do you have additional units/pres? I have avoided Caron Central, and the Audio/MIDI Setup method works fine with just my one unit.

I had to re-install carbon central .. and then it started seeing it.

I had to let Initializing Library Content run for about an hour and it
finally finished .. looks like it was scanning my file system .. but,
seems like it's working now..

Sure glad I saved my I/O setup! ..

Ok .. next problem .. Instrument Track doesn't seem to
see my Midi input.

My work around is to make a separate MIDI track and route to
the instrument.. ironically, both the Instrument track and MIDI
track have the exact same input .. but only the MIDI track sees
activity ...

Both records work.. weird .. this seems like a bug.

OK .. Update .. I did the "Comcast trouble support workaround" and re-booted my system.
And then Protools started seeing the MIDI input on the Instrument track..

Strange . but it's working now. .. sheesh.

I have Studio 2022.X installed
I’m on Monterey
What’s best way to install latest 2023.9?

Should I totally uninstall my old current ?
By dragging app into an uninstaller ?

Should I just leave my 2022 version as is and run latest 2023.9 installer?

Does that leave old version and install new version so you have both?
Or will it give me option to keep old or delete?

Just wanted to know if best to keep both and how that’s done
And then maybe trash old after a week or so. ??

Thanks to those who have done this and reply

Uninstalling is no longer necessary, and for a "complete uninstall" you would need to install OS to an empty drive.

That's what I do, and it seems most others do as well. The installer is designed to create a proper upgrade by doing this.
