Sorry for the late reply - hope you find time to give this a try:

Download & install the latest version of iLok License Manager from https://www.ilok.com/#!license-manager
In iLok License Manager, right-click on your License and choose “Deactivate”
After the spinning beach ball has stopped, under the “Available” Licenses Tab, right-click on your License and choose “Activate”
Once your License is back on your iLok, right-click on your iLok and choose “Synchronize”.

If that does not fix it, please post here

Its been this for years now and it seems they dont care...

(im on ultimate 2019-6 but it was also in previous versions of PT)

I know UAD has the same plugin, but I dont know about theirs... I didnt want to spent another dollar on a plugin I already own.

I know about these spikes, too. But I'm doing a complex mix right now with many instances of mdw5 - no spikes at the beginning of all bounced files! Maybe because there are other plug-ins after mdw in the chain? Can't tell right now.
But one thing fore sure: There is no other eq out there with nearly the same sonic quality. I tested (and own) also Flux Epicure, Sonnox, McDSP, Waves, FabFilter, Brainworx,…many times!
There's only one better: Massenburg Hardware!

Good to read you've got it sorted!

Johnny Hulst posted your quote before I got to post the latest update links, together with some important iLok License Manager instructions.
So, again, for those who haven’t yet updated their MDW EQ5:
Rail Jon Rogut from Massenburg DesignWorks® says the final build MDWEQ5-AAX 5.2.1r17 is now available.

System requirements:
MAC – Mac OS X 10.7 or higher (32 or 64-bit)
Windows – 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate (64-bit only)

Important: Anyone installing from the following links should first install the latest version of iLok License Manager from https://www.ilok.com/#!license-manager
In iLok License Manager, right-click on your MDW EQ5 License and choose “Deactivate”
After the spinning beach ball has stopped, under the “Available” Licenses Tab, right-click on your License and choose “Activate”
Once your License is back on your iLok, right-click on your iLok and choose “Synchronize”.

macOS:
DSP + Native Version:

Native Version:

Native Version:

Please post here if you have any problems with any of the above versions.

Thanks!

OK, but I have to say that I'm not using the latest version MDWEQ5-AAX 5.2.1r17…
My version is the last which has been posted on the AVID site.
As other plug-ins follow MDWEQ5 there might be another reason for me not having spikes:

I make sure that my selection of a bounce starts not after anyaudio clip. Even not if there is no audible content is in that clip. When any audio clip is "chopped off" by the starting point of the bounce I'll get nasty spikes, too.

Interested to know, if you do decide to update, whether this issue is fixed for you. Thanks for posting!

Hi

I'd like to start with 2 questions:

In your Avid account>My Products and Subscriptions, is your license Banner title: “MDW EQ V5 AAX – UPGRADE “?

And, directly after
“iLok id: ********** and Date”, what follows the word “Licenses:”?

Please do check your Avid account – even if you know what version you purchased!

Yes and MDW EQ 5.0 (AAX DSP/NATIVE).

Peter

Assuming you’re on Mac, does your system meet these requirements:
MAC – Mac OS X 10.7 or higher (32 or 64-bit)

If so, please download again and re-install:
macOS:
DSP + Native Version:

https://1drv.ms/u/s!ApgArEWWsfnhh-81Xw47E5APj3o58w

Then, in iLok License Manager, right-click on your License and choose “Deactivate”
After the spinning beach ball has stopped, under the “Available” Licenses Tab, right-click on your License and choose “Activate”
Once your License is back on your iLok, right-click on your iLok and choose “Synchronize”.

This has worked for other Mac users.
Please post your result – I will follow this up. Thank you!
