192 interface not showing up in hardware setup menu
I'm running pro tools 10.3.8 on a Mac Pro 4,1 with OS 10.8.5... I've connected a 192 to the core pcie card. When I run a digitest, the card comes up in the test, and lights on the 192 light up. I've run the firmware update and it says its 3.0. I've then shut everything down. Then start up the 192, then start the computer. Open pro tools and I still don't get the 192 to come up in the hardware menu of pro tools, or the when looking at the hardware section of the mac. Any suggestions??? Please??
Thank you. |

192 interface not showing up in hardware setup menu
Does it show up as an option in the Setup>Playback Engine dialog screen?
Do you have a Pro Tools 10 HD license asset on your iLok? Must be HD? Double check what shows in the iLok license manager. Was it ever working? What did you change? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Re: 192 interface not showing up in hardware setup menu
It does not show up in the Setup>Playback Engine dialog screen...in my iLok manager the license just says Pro Tools 10,11,12 (NT) 3. I'm able to open up a Pro Tools session on this computer, but the playback engine says Pro Tools Aggregate...I just acquired both the computer with the pcie cards, and pro tools already installed, as well as the 192. I can't be sure that both the interface and computer were used together prior to me. I've just now started to set this up....I've sent a message to avid to see if I have the wrong license. But I wouldn't be able to open pro tools, would I?
Thanks for responding, and the help. |

192 interface not showing up in hardware setup menu
You don’t have a Pro Tools 10 HD license, and it is not working exactly as expected. You need to work out what exactly you were promised/sold and if you were ripped off or not. Contacting Avid is a waste of time, unless you just want to pay for a support call for them to tell you what I just did.
You can buy a used Pro Tools 10 HD license, or I suspect a Pro Tools 10 HD is still as part of the perpetual Pro Tools 2018 Ultimate bundles, but that will cost you several $k. If buying a new 2018 Ultimate license call Sweetwater or a similar dealer and check with them it includes Pro Tools 10 HD. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Re: 192 interface not showing up in hardware setup menu
It does not. New Ultimate licenses don’t give you a bundle license including old versions. Only if do an upgrade do you get a bundle license.
