I have a new macbook pro 15" with i7 2.2Ghz and 16GB ram.
I use it for real work, and it happily does very large sessions with HD video.

I do transfer my mixes to a large HDX system for final mix. But PT does run like a charm on the macbook.
The USB audio issues seem fine now with os 10.14.4... PT ultimate (I run 2018.10) is not compatible but seems fine thusfar.
