Mic level issue on Mbox/Pro Tools 8

I am using a Sony AT-4033 Mic that is going into my apogee mini me via XLR, then going into mbox 2 via S/PDIF, and then into my macbook on pro tools 8. Hasn't been an issue since I updated my software to Lion that I can't get a good mic level at all. Could it be the software update? Trying to adjust the mic level but the track level is going into the red, but then when I turn that down I can barely get a level in my headphones. Anyone out there have an idea what's going on?

my guess would be you have corrupted preference and settings files
I would try trashing the Pro Tools preferences and DAE settings files (System HD>Library> Preferences)

When you say that do you mean uninstalling pro tools and then reinstalling? I'm actually finding that my apogee level is all the way down and my mic track is still going up into the red.

Deleted the preferences. Still not getting much luck. I'm barely even speaking into the microphone and the levels are going into the yellow and red.

Oh and yes I am on a Mac!

Like I mention before the Apogee mini me is all the way down too, isn't that where I should be getting my gain from? Getting little to no levels on the Apogee Mini Me (only the bottom green dot is lighting up) and the level in pro tools is in the yellow.

Any other ideas? Help is much appreciated! :)

the AT stands for Audio Technica, you have an Audio Technica Mic. (It's not Sony)

Has the Pad switch on the Mic been changed?

Try using the Pad on the Mic and see what difference that makes.

Otherwise, test the set up by going Mic>Apogee>Line input (gain down) Mbox, and see what the levels are like. (Rather than SPDif)

At least then you will be able to hone in on the location of the problem.

Also PT8 is not supported on Lion although people have got it working.

Have you updated to PT 8.0.5?

Apparently that will help functionality in the unsupported Mobile Phone iOS that is called 'Lion'.
