PT froze during session - now my IK plug-ins have been de-authorised!

Hi folks,
Pretty much as it says above... was tracking some vox during a session last night. It was a relatively large session (by my standards anyway).

I had 7 VIs running (all were plug-ins from the PT LE 8 creative bundle...Xpand2, Structure free, Boom, Arturia...). Had maybe 8 instances of IK plug-ins running too (Amplitube, Classik Studio Reverb, TrackS).

Was working away, then PT froze completely (no error messages). I left the iMac for 5/10 mins to see if it would come round, but no luck. I couldn't get any response from the iMac.

I needed to do a re-boot using the power button. When I re-launched PT again, all of my IK plug-ins were de-authorised.

Does anybody know what caused this?... it's a pain, because I had the same issue when I upgraded from 7.4 to 8 & then the same again when I recently upgraded to OSX 10.5.7. At this stage, I'm running out of authorisation codes, so will need to talk to IK to see if I can get more codes - I don't want to find myself in a situation when I can't use IK software that I’ve paid good money for.


Specs per my sig. In terms of connectivity:

• External FW audio drive & 003r are both connected via powered Belkin FW 400 hub into IMac (i.e. not daisy chained)
• Back up USB drive connected to iMac USB hub.
• All other USB peripherals connected via powered Belkin USB hub.

I haven't spoken to IK support yet, since I wanted to check here first.

If it's the same machine the exisiting auth code still stands, i think they're based on the mac address of the machine.

IK are just a PIA.

That's what I would have expected... but it doesn't accept the previous codes. PIA is right

If you tell IK what happened they will allow more codes, it happened to me. Just email their support.

Turns out it's a known IK / 10.5.7 compatability issue... just got a response from IK :

"the 10.5.7 is causing this to happen, we are working on the update now,
but once you run out of codes we will unlock more for you"
