Default Grid in bars/beats, display in minutes! am i going mad?

Hi,

I'm sure i used to be able to have the grid set to bars/beats but still have the display show in minutes/time etc.

I've got the grid set to "NOT follow main time scale" but when ever the grid is set to beats the display changes to beats as well

Chris

Really? Sure you're not thinking about "Show sub counter"?

View/Main Counter/ Bars:Beats

Bars|Beats drop-down box (near top-left of Edit window) - Tick Minutes:Seconds

I had this problem so I think I have the answer.
Make sure that the GRID icon is highlighted in green, that is, engaged and on.
GRID is above nudge and to the right of the transport.
If it is not green, then there are no bar lines.
Only time scale at top line.
Hope that is it.
I felt kind of dumb when I finally turned it (grid) back on and my guide lines for visual MIDI came back.
Good luck SA
