I have run sessions with no pug ins - and no VIs. 1 track can do it. This is an intermittent problem. No I haven't stuck all my 3rd party plug ins in Unused folder. Apparently Pt2019 is the ducks nuts so Ill give that a go.

Before you go to PT2019 move all your third party plugins into the unused folder. There may be something there that's giving you problems. This is one of those standard troubleshooting steps like deleting prefs/databases.
