PT11 HD on OSX 10.7.5 hangs on sample import

I am having trouble importing loops via the workspace browser or drop and drag. Sometime it works, but some loops just hang protools. I can preview all loops in the workspace browser but once I try to drag it into the session PT hangs. Could be me using 10.7.5 but I thought I would ask anyway.

Hi,

Whats settings have you got in the prefs / processing for import

drag and drop from desktop conforms to session tempo?

Where have these loops come from? do tyey have any embedded data for slicing and tempo changes, like rex and acid files etc

Pro Tools 11 isn't compatible with 10.7.5.

System Requirements say 10.8.4

Perhaps this could be the problem? Or if people are running 11 successfully in Lion, I'd be curious if it is working just fine for some people.

Edit: I reread the post original post and saw that you mention that you know it isn't incompatible. I am still curious if people are running it successfully.

Hi there,

Sorry you're bumping into this - we've seen the issue and have a fix for it that we'll try to get out in an upcoming Pro Tools update.

In the meantime, there are a couple options to work around this. The hang comes when it tries to do Elastic Audio analysis on the loop files when you drag them to the timeline. This happens only if 1) the files aren't already analyzed, and/or 2) the files can't store EA analysis, as with mp3, REX, read-only files, and a few other situations.

Options to work around it:

• Analyze all the files ahead of time - in the Workspace, right click on the top-level folder and do "Calculate Elastic Analysis". Only works for AIFF & WAV files.
• Turn off Tempo Matching in Workspace

Hi Paul

Should I take your answer regarding a "Fix" for this in an upcoming PT revision that Avid are now supporting OSX 10.7.5 when stated that PT11 HAD to have 10.8.x in order to work so everyone who believed this invested largely in new Macs to accomodate PT11/11HD?

So is any one using PT 11HD with Lion OS 10.7.5? I've read that they are but has any signs of problems come up yet? I just upgraded to PT 11, but haven't installed still on OS 10.7.5
