Period.
Incorrect. TDM uses 2 voices and HDX uses 1 voice. I know this for a fact.

Can someone please provide a link to confirm or deny this? I haven't seen solid proof either way, and would like to know the answer to satisfy my own curiosity.

If a MIDI event triggers a sample of a tree falling and there's no one there to hear it, does it make a sound?

Yes, what Brandonx1 said. More specifically, a single voice has two directions with HDX - to the card and from the card. HDX allows us more flexibility than HD, so a round trip (such as an RTAS plug-in after a DSP plug-in) uses two directions of a single voice, rather than two voices like HD did.

Thanks Paul,

I figured this was possible, since if I remember right, digi had done something similar with tdm timeslots back when the switch from MIX to HD happened.
