Sample Rate only until 96 kHz (no 192 kHz)

Hi,

i have installed PT 12.8.2 on my new iMac. But I have two things, I couldn't solve yet:

1. I only can sample until 96 kHz. There is no 192 kHz, if I scroll down. What is the reason? Too less RAM, too less processor (but I have i7), wrong audio-driver?

2. I am missing "Mini Gran", "DB-33", "Structure Free" and few other instruments as plug-in. Am I right to install "Avid Virtual Instruments 10" and others, which are shown here?

Hi, Eleven Rack only works up to a 96k sample rate, which is plenty IMHO.

No, you should install the Air Instruments Bundle 12.0 (and the Air Effects Bundle 12.0) if you're using Pro Tools 12.

you made my day. I installed Air Instruments Bundle 12.0 and after that it worked.

For the first point (96 kHz) i got the solution: It was the PT Aggregate I/O- driver, who only is able to go until 96 kHz. When I today took my Steinberg ur22mkII-Interface it was possible upto 192 kHz. This means: It depends on the interface or soundcard, what sample rate is possible.

All that being said what are you recording that needs such a high sample rate? Most home stuff doesn't need those high rates.

I agree - I still record at 48k in the interest of saving disk space - plus I'd lose some I/O at the higher rates. Of course it's technically better quality at higher sample rates, and some people claim to hear a difference...
