Installers/Product reverting to previous versions for Pro Tools 12 Student/Academic
I have Pro Tools for Student purchased on 20.02.2013, so theoretically I should be eligible for upgrade for another one year +. So far I was getting all the upgrades without a problem, however with always some delay. And that was up to 12.3 which I installed recently and was happilly using.
Today I got notification via application manager about 12.3.1 release and started to download it. Everything fine. And then I visited my avid account and found that product name have changed from "Pro Tools 12 No Charge UG for student verified" to something called "Pro Tools Academic 12.2.1" and latest available download there is 12.2.1 12.3 version which I have downloaded previously from my account disappeared. What is that means to me ? Am I still eligible for updates ? If so, how to get them if they're not on my account ? If not - why ? And why my product was downgraded from 12.3 to 12.2.1 ? My 12.3 version loaded on my computer works fine, but if I need to reinstall I don't have access to the files anymore from my account. Can anybody from staff clarify that please ? |

Re: Where is my No Charge Pro Tools 12 Student Upgrade?
Quote:
After talking with Avid about being worried about my 4 year upgrade license, and they ensuring me I will receive every upgrade without problem and I don't have to do anything, now I found that my account can now just only download Pro Tools 12.2.1 and that the name of the product changed to "Pro Tools Academic 12.2.1" I'm seriously considering just crossgrading to Studio One 3 and forget about Avid and their ineptitude. |

Re: Where is my No Charge Pro Tools 12 Student Upgrade?
Same thing here! I just noticed my Student v12 version changed to 12.2.1 from 10/11/12. Luckily I downloaded 12.3 the other day but why can't I download that again? Where is my 11.3.2 now? Did the Students all of a sudden get demoted? Please clarify. Thanks.

Re: Where is my No Charge Pro Tools 12 Student Upgrade?
Hi Avid
I can only see PT 12.1 in my account. I should be getting free upgrades until mid 2016. Can you check my account? Also the Application manager on my computer is empty when i log in? I have tried to sync it with my account. Nothing happens. I am supposed to upgrade PT with that right? Thanks Kasper

Pro Tools 12.3 and 11.3.2 missing from My Products
Hi everyone,
I've noticed that the latest PT 11.3.2 has disappeared from "My Products and Subscriptions", leaving me with PT 11.3.1 as the latest version. The same thing happened with the update for PT 12.3, no longer there. Has anyone experienced something similar lately? |

Re: Pro Tools 11.3.2 missing from My Products
Hi and Welcome to the Community
I have escalated this to Avid and someone will get in touch with you here or via email to see what what. It is sunday in the US so I would expect to know something tomorrow at the earliest.

Re: Pro Tools 11.3.2 missing from My Products
Something I'd like to add to the OP: when you get things back in order in your account and get access to the updates is to save them to a safe place on your computer or to an external drive or even a dvd. That way you have the installers should you need them and don't have access to the internet or a situation like this happens.

Re: Where is my No Charge Pro Tools 12 Student Upgrade?
A week ago i downloaded my Pro Tools 12.3 installer from my account, but now i can update only from application manager (updated to 12.3.1 today) because in my account my "pro tools 12" license now has changed into "pro tools academic 12.2.1" and i can't find 12.3 update anymore. I'm still in the 4 years update plan (until 9 jan 2016). Can you please fix this problem? Now i'm running 12.3.1 and works fine with ilok license.

Re: Where is my No Charge Pro Tools 12 Student Upgrade?
Same thing happened here. Not sure if Application Manager will let me install 12.3.1. Good through April '16.

Re: Where is my No Charge Pro Tools 12 Student Upgrade?
Same problem here. I downloaded 12.3 over a week ago. Now that's gone.
But now my account only shows a download for Pro Tools 12.2.1 No 12.3.1 download yet... What gives? Is there a period of time before Avid rolls out all the student licenses? Thanks. |
