Changing MIDI Note Duration - Need Help Please
How do I change the duration of a midi note? For example, say I want to change a group of midi notes that have different durations to all have the same approximate duration of a stacato note played as a 16th note at 200 BPM.
I've attempted to use the "Midi Operations/Change Duration" command with no luck. Thanks.

Can you give the exact step by step you're using? I just tested this and the 'change duration' works fine on my system.

Re: Changing MIDI Note Duration - Need Help Please
Hi Jeff,
What are the steps you are trying, as the Change Duration command in MIDI Operations seems to be working properly here. This is what I am doing: 1. Make a selection on a MIDI Track set to Notes view of the Notes I want to change the duration of with the Selector or Grabber tool. 2. Event > MIDI Operations > Change Duration 3. Choose the "Set All to" radio button and enter a value in the text field - 2 beats for example. 4. Click Apply Result: The duration of all selected notes is changed to 2 beats. Is that what you are looking to do? Cheers, Scott

Re: Changing MIDI Note Duration - Need Help Please
This looks like what I'm trying to do. I'm not at my system now.
You set it for 2 beats (half note at 4/4 time). How would I set it for 1/16th note?

Re: Changing MIDI Note Duration - Need Help Please
Hi Jeff,
So the first numeric field is for beats (so yes, in 4/4 putting a 2 there will mean a half note). The second numeric field is ticks (there are 960 of those per quarter note), so an eighth note would be 480 and a sixteenth note would be 240. So, just leave a 0 in the first field and 240 in the second field and you can set all the selected notes to be a sixteenth note. Cheers, Scott
