I just upgraded to Pro Tools 9, which should work fine with both the Mackie 1220i and Windows 7/64bit O/S, plus I'll be able to upgrade PT later on. Once I get everything delivered (mackie on back order) I will optimize my windows, install pro tools, connect mackie, ezdrummer, then install my Amplitude 3 Free/ Ampeg plug ins and start messing about.

Alrighty then, Mackie board was delivered, finally got the time to put this all together, the Mackie 1220i powered up to install the drivers and noticed, I had no firewire port - after much investigation and a call into Mackie, I ordered the Startech.Com EC13942 2 Port Expresscard Laptop 1394A Firewire Adapter Card....I just can't win.
