Universal Audio AAX Plugins - Not Working

Hey guys,

I've a big recording date coming up in 48 hours, so we have some time... but not much.

I'm using PT12.4 on Win7 with a UA Apollo Firewire (I'm trying an Apollo that I bought used). I only want to use the free plugins, my UAD Meter & Control Panel says they are "Authorized on all devices." When I open PT, I get this error:

"The following plugins failed to load because they are not valid 64 bit AAX plugins."

Does this mean the files may be corrupt? Or does this mean PT thinks my plugins are not authorized?

What version of UA plugins are you running.

I have version 8. Does that work with the Firewire Apollo?

Try downloading the newest version. And be sure to select the right download in the pulldown menu.

Thanks Drew, I just downloaded the newest version yesterday and that is the one I installed. I should have been more specific, I have version 8.7.

This AAX plugin error may be gone... however I'm not sure because I can't open PT at all right now, it says "the selected audio device could not be initialized." I'm sorry, I'm a total newbie with Apollo, it's the first time I've ever tried to install one. I really appreciate your help.

Thanks for that link Drew. I had missed some of that.

I did not realize the previous owner has to transfer the registration to me through UA. I don't know who he is though, I bought this used from a music store...

That's probably why I was never shown the registration page when I installed the device, and I can't register it manually at my.uadio.

I'm guessing I can't use it without having it officially registered.

Call UA support, they are great and will help you get the unit transferred to your account. If you haven't made one yet, do so.

This is fairly common with used/demo units.

Let me know if you have any issues with that and I will try to help if I can.
