Re: AAE error -9173 stronger than ever on PT 12.5
Anyone using 32 lives? It's the only way I can use my 32bit 3rd party plugins. Figured that's what is causing me issues but looks like it's 3rd party plugins in general. Great!

Re: AAE error -9173 stronger than ever on PT 12.5
I looked at my CPU monitor and a program I use to covert 32bit to 64bit plugins causes the spike. Using 32 Lives. Anyone know any other programs for converting 32bit plugins? For Mac...

IIRC, see Blue Cat Audio or J-Bridge.

Seems to be running better already. Thanks again! Had 1 pop-up when switching plugins while live playing but the CPU didn't spike. Pro Tool 12.x 2012 iMac i5 16gb Ram 1TB Glyph Studio External Drive |

Re: AAE error -9173 stronger than ever on PT 12.5
Ever since installing Pro Tools 12 i have updated a few times and still get the AAE-9173 error, I am currently at version 12.5. I added a screen shot right when it happened. You can see my CPU spiked up to 46% when it happened. I've tried so many things already, I also removed the Click II and it still happens, I just uninstalled cloud services and will give it a try now. Be back with more on that.

Re: AAE error -9173 stronger than ever on PT 12.5
Try updating your Ethernet LAN/Network Adapter Driver. Worked for me.
PT 12.5 seems to have more connectivity applications running in the background than previous versions, so this fix actually made some sense to me. Hope that helps. Run down this list: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/T...oting/en349411 Update: Although the above literally worked for me 95%, I still get the occasional crash. Is there an update or patch for this yet?! Seems like I'm chasing "New Versions" just to eliminate every new bug and still having problems. I need this thing to be stable enough to record, or it's just not of any worth to me. Last edited by 1racerx; 03-08-2017 at 08:59 AM. Reason: UPDATE |

Re: AAE error -9173 stronger than ever on PT 12.5
Well I went ahead and updated to Pro Tools 12.7, I disabled Click II, Removed the cloud storage app, optimized my Windows 10 as to what Avid states (i included that link below). I did everything that it stated. But guess what I still get the AAA-error-9173. It pops up about every 10 min when I am working on a midi track. I am almost ready to give up and go back to Sonar or something of that nature. Don't know what else to do. So far Pro Tools has been a huge let down for me as far as Midi goes. When i mix down audio files everything runs super smooth.

Re: AAE error -9173 stronger than ever on PT 12.5
I just went ahead and submitted a case to Avid today 1/21/17 about this issue below is what I submitted.
Since using Pro Tools I have encountered this AAA-9173 error consistently. I have done several Pro Tools upgrades and I am finally using 12.7 and I still get this error about every 10 min or so. I have disabled Click II, Uninstalled Cloud services and optimized my Windows 10 according to Avids's requirements and I still get this error. I have a new HP laptop running Windows 10 64 bit, i7 processor with 12G's of ram and a Focusrite Scarlet audio interface. When I mix down audio files I can run 50+ files with tones of plugins without one single crash. But when I use Midi to create a song it crashes with just a drum kick and snare. I have done everything to fix this issue, and cannot do so. It seems this issue has been going on for YEARS!!! and its still not resolved. I need this issue fixed ASAP. I will post their response back and hopefully I can get this issue fixed and share it with everyone. Be back soon. |
