Default Protools 7.4cs5/Delta 1010LT - sync to D1600

Hi,
I am trying to confgure my Korg D1600 as a master and PTools -M as a slave. The goal is to drive PTools from my Korg D1600 recorder in complete sync.

Here are the pieces:

- Korg D1600
- c02 opt/coax converter
- windows xp
- pro tools 7.4cs5
- delta 1010LT
- MIDI out from Korg to MIDI in on Delta/PT

I have optical connection in place to drive optical sync on the Delta. Tha Control shows that it islocked fine.

I then set PTools to respond as slave (127) and the transport controls seems to work from the Korg when PT is online. However, although the start and stop commands work unit does not seem to be clocking exact. That is, when I stop the Korg Ptools is usuall off within sub seconds. for example (2:40:345/PT vs 2:40:300 /Korg) etc ..

Question is - given what I have - what is the best way to lock these two together to keep it EXACT.

Thanks,
vin

Currently it sounds like you're only using MMC. You need to use MTC to keep the devices in sync.

Set the D1600 to sent MTC and, in Pro Tools under Setup>Peripherals make sure the MTC Reader is set to the port that has the MTC coming from the D1600. Put Pro Tools online and it should sync to the D1600.

More info can be found in the Synchronization section of the Pro Tools Reference Guide.

Should that port be the Delta Card or do I need to create a MIDI device for the Korg and use that?

It would be the MIDI input port on the Delta card that you have MTC coming into from the D1600.
