Default Will this Mac Mini do the job in my producer studio?

I'm a producer and composer, and work on music projects - mostly in the box - and other stuff like documentaries, podcasts, etc. Mostly just in audio, but sometimes composing to video. I'm looking to get a Mac Mini for studio use, as I don't like using my Macbook Pro in the studio all the time (annoying bringing it with me everywhere I go, and it has a hellishly loud fan).

I'm looking at a 2018 model with these specs:
- 3.2 ghz i7, 6 cores
- 32gb RAM
- 500gb SSD

Comparing that with my 2017 MBP I think it should be good, but would love a second opinion.

Thanks!

I have a 2018 Mac mini for my main studio computer.
It works great for that.

I don't use it for video work because the lack of dedicated video ram means it doesn't handle projects as well as my 2017 iMac.

That would also have a loud fan, tough a bit more silent than a laptop. If you want a silent box you need to buy the trashcan

I have a Mac mini that you're interested in and I run large sessions, combination of VI's and audio tracks and it's been handling sessions extremely well, even better than my 12 core 2010 Mac Pro. I think you'll be very satisfied but one thing I have noticed. Because of the large size of my sessions, the mini will get hot. My temps hover between 88 and 100C. Btw, I can't hear the fan even at 4400 RPM so that's good but my worry was the constant high temps... so what I did was disabled turbo boost and now, all sessions run just as great and temps are around 75C.

I can't give any opinions on how it handles video as it's not what I do.
