HOWTO, audio file automation during record pass
Hi there,
Is it not possible to write automation to audio track while the track is record enabled? I recently mixed a TV live show and naturally recorded all audio tracks for possible future use. All tracks' automation mode was "write", but only AUX track automation was written to the session. What did I miss? How can I write automation to audio tracks while I record? Do I really have to create a VCA master for every audio track and write automation there? I should probably had to suspect losing automation on audio tracks as the automation "write" button looked different on audio tracks compared to aux and master tracks, but I didn't. Now I'd need some clear advice on how to do this next time...

Re: HOWTO, audio file automation during record pass
Yes automation is disabled for audio tracks in rec mode i'm afraid. What you say about a vca for each audio track would do the trick or route each audio track to an aux and write the automation there. The advantage is with the vca though as you can coeolesce the automation easily after wards.
