Smile Pro Tools 101 Courseware Book

Hi everyone,

Having had My Pro Tools gear for over a year now and enjoying it so much, I went and bought the 'Pro Tools 101 Courseware Book' from Amazon and it arrived today, 'Great' I said, but to my disappointment it was geared for Windows and not Mac.

Is there a Mac version of it?, and where can I purchase this book?

Please can anybody help me

Any help would be very much appreciated.

joe

I bought this book not too long ago too. I'm pretty sure we're talking about the same book. It's the only official courseware approved by Digidesign? I've read through pretty much the whole book and even though it seems to lean on the windows side of things they do offer specific instructions for what to do on Macs. Another book I found very useful (if not more) is the books was "Producing in the Home Studio With Pro Tools BK/DVD-Rom 3rd Edition (Paperback)". You can find it on Amazon. I read this book when I was learning Pro Tools v 6.1.1 and it came in VERY handy. When I bought the courseware 101 book I was kind of disappointed how basic they started off. It's still a very good book and it's my own fault for not getting something more intermediate.

Hi Guitarfool, I'm one too!, I love them as well, hehehe. Thanks for your help mate I'll read the book and check out the other book you suggested and since I'm a bit of a beginner with Pro Tools I'll keep ticking each box as I go through the book.

By the way I have a couple of acoustics and a semi acoustic and love them all.

Keep on pickin'

They have both options in that book for Mac and PC. I have that very same book. 'Pro Tools for Dummies' is 8 books in one and has a lot more into it. I used it as a reference to find different compression ratio settings for instruments and such. It's really good too.

FWIW Kenny Gioias tips and trick videos are great. Something there for both the beginner and advanced users.

Available at GrooveBox or the Digi store.

Plus if you buy them he will probably make a few more

I've just ordered Pro Tools for Dummies and David Franz's, Producing in the Home Studio with Pro Tools, Hopefully these will also help me to get to grips with Pro Tools properly.

I'd like to thank you all for your input and suggestions in helping find a solution to my query, thanks guys!
