The original M1 (I still have and use mine) had a noisy output amp setup or something. I remember the Korg rep telling me it had been updated right about the time the T series started. I mean it's not like really noisy, just not pristine.

For anybody interested I found a shootout between the original M1 and the plugin :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sY09XouWv0

The drums sound noticable worse in the plugin. Besides that and the plugin reverb they mostly sound pretty similar.

Cheers. Great comparison.

Dare I say it the M1 sounds warmer and the Legacy Edition brighter

There's clearly more reverb with a bit different character on the later.

Anyhow, more than close enough to warrant an investment.

Yeah he mentions about more reverb at the end of the video.

Anyhow, Wavestation and more comparisons for those interested!

Still trying to find out about the purchase.

Seems it’s only $99 to upgrade from the original M1le license

Sounds about right - I also upgraded via the LE version and with the new ARP Odyssey at $49 (this offer probably ends soon), this would match the full price at $149 ... for surely one of the best classic synth collections that was only flawed in its lack of AAX (thus people using the Blue Cat Audio plugins, Soundflower, etc. previously).

... I upgraded from LE years ago for what was probably $99 at the time, and when Korg released the ARP Odyssey a few weeks ago + moved licensing, etc. to the main Korg website, there was an offer to add the new VI for $49, so I think it was $149 total :)

Cool, just didn’t want to spend another $50 if I didn’t have to
