If we click on on the midi I/O we get the spinning beach ball for about 5-10 seconds, then it clams down and we can change the midi channel. What is causing this delay? It is very detrimental to our workflow.
Our sessions have about 100 midi tracks, 40 Aux tracks, and 2 instances of Vienna Ensemble Pro. (Samples hosted on another computer) Pro Tools 9.0.5 Vienna Ensemble Pro 4.1.8861 Mac Pro OSX 10.6.8 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 16 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 RAM Digi 002 |

![]() ![]() Have you tried ditching your AMS prefs? If not, ditch this one as well -->"com.apple.MIDI.xxxx.plist '(in the By Host folder) That might help. Reinstalling the driver or updating the firmware couldn't hurt as well. Good luck ![]()

These are all good ideas, but unfortunately the problem persists. Any other ideas?

Have you tried another USB cable and different USB port? You could even reset your PRAM before trying out the new USB port. I don't know if any of that will help, but it's easy to try. Did you have this problem with 9.0.3 or is this new with 9.0.5?

This is a known issue in 9.0.5. The only solution is to revert to an earlier version or wait for an update that fixes it...

There is an update that fixes it... and it costs $299!

Same problem here. How did this update get out of beta?

I rather doubt 10 would fix this since it seems some 9.0.5 issues carried over, but it might.
There are serious midi delay issues in 10 on Win7 9 (also in 9.0.5). Avid knows about it and has listed the bug. I have no idea if it's related to the midi I/O delay on the Mac side as I'm not seeing that here, but there are other serious delays with large midi track counts. For the OP: I would drop back to 9.0.3 or earlier and see if that solves it. |

Didn't the 9.0.6 update just fix midi track output assignments?
I think i read that?????
