Re: Track/"Channel Strip" Presets DO exist in Pro Tools, apparently...

Hidden tracks just creates a messy session you can't see. A template can't account for creativity, and as Shane here pointed out... shortcuts. Give me my track presets in the new track window, and I can build a full session from scratch with exactly what tracks I need/want in a few seconds, instead of searching around and activating/deactivating hidden tracks.

Well, to each his own, as always.

We are able to argue about workflows because with this hack we now have a choice. That of itself is worth its weight in gold.

Tried with PT 8HD but won't allow me to export any Instrument or Midi tracks (the option is greyed out). Here's another way of doing the same thing that worked:

Re: Track/"Channel Strip" Presets DO exist in Pro Tools, apparently...
I'd like to reanimate this thread as a gentle reminder that this function does indeed still exist, and that Avid should pay attention to who chimed in here and what was said.
Still a highly important feature that can not possibly be difficult to implement since it's technically already there. It would be lovely to see it snuck into an update... but surely it's not an obtuse request to see it alive in PT11.

Re: Track/"Channel Strip" Presets DO exist in Pro Tools, apparently...
Mike Thornton has just highlighted this 'hidden' functionality in the current issue of Sound on Sound (Nov 2012) in his Pro Tools column.
That'll get it out to a wider section of the community and hopefully get Avid to see the light.

"Channel Strip Presets" is the #4 highest ranked request on ideascale, as well.
