Default New Mix, PLease Listen and Give Feedback!

Ok here is a song from my new demo.
Anybody that has read the "Just came back from a Pro Mastering House" thread, this is a song from that session.
I have a link to my T-racks master and to the Pro master.
Listen to both and give me feedback on the recording quality as well as the master comparison.
I will not post which is which.
On one of the masters i dropped a track marker 2 minutes in so you will have to download two individual tracks to get the whole track. The other version is straight through no track marker at two minutes.
Also, these are MP3's so keep that in mind.
Look forward to your feedback.
Here we go:

Thanks,
Joe

Hello there,
just listened to your track.
It's not my type of music, but at this level of quality (recording, mixing, etc...) I wouldn't worry too much about mastering, especially if this is just a demo.
You obviously know your stuff, and I feel whatever is going to sell your music to a record company has more to do with image and hit-potential in the current market (whatever that is) than your mixing or playing abilities, which to me are both excellent.
Sorry to veer a bit off-topic here, but I feel we sometimes (I include myself in this) worry too much about the wrong stuff. I don't think any record exec or venue is going to reject your track because it has been put through T-racks or hasn't been to a pro mastering house.
You're doing fine, I guess you now only need to be the right band in the right place with the right song and the right connections.

Good luck !

Thanks for the listen Paul, i think what you are saying makes perfect sense!

Here is some info on the recording:
Drums were cut to 2" tape at Milk Boy Studios, I then transferred the files to PT and I took them home.
Guitars were cut through a focusrite ISA430( i think that is it, its the one like the producer pack but cheaper).
I closed miced a cabinet with a SM57 and recorded completely dry through a Carvin Legacy head with a Fender mexi strat.
There are about four guitar tracks but they are not always all going.
Vocals were cut through a AKG C414B/TLII into the same focusrite pre amp.
Bass was cut with a Demeter bass pre and into a Joe Meek VCQtwin for a little compression.
My system is the 001 running on Window Me, and all that was used for effects was Waves comp, eq and reverb.
The converters are a RME eight channel box.
I want to share my thoughts on what I am happy with and what I am not but i want to get a bit more feedback before skewing anyone's opinion.
Thanks Again,
Joe

Jedvenny,

I loved it. Simple and straight.
Great!

( I think to have heard 5 or six crackles at the beginning and around the midlle part. If so, kill´em.)

Rock on!

Lalaman

PS: Very nice how you fade the voice at the end and let it merge with the hair of the guitar. The bass has an absolute killer sound. That´s what it is when you take the right pre

They were recorded in mono, then bounced to create a stereo file. Then we just applied the Waves mondo mod. for the panning effect
