Default locate a pro tools session on a mac?

Hi all,

As silly as it sounds I can't locate a session I worked on several months ago. I know it's on the mac somewhere but I'm stumped. For some reason unknown to me, the mac finder search seems useless in locating any pro tools sessions with either .ptx or .ptf file format. (osx 10.7) Tried every variation I can think of, by name, date, file type, etc. I even tried with known locations of known files and finder can't "see" them in a search!? Am I missing something? Anyone have any suggestions?
thanks

In Spotlight, search for just .ptx or .ptf.

Then click Show In Finder. They will/should be in the "other" category.

I just did it here and it found them all.

As long as spotlight is turned on for the session drives

I only have mine on for main drive and backup drives. Not sessions and sample drives

I only mention this because avid, in it's optimization protocol says to turn it off
