Default using outboard compressors in HD

I just switched to HD and am rewiring things around the studio and now with delay compensation I want to use all my outboard gear
How do I insert hardware compressors etc in PT?

thanks

Same way as a plug-in insert. Click on the normal insert tab, and use the i/o menu to route your outboard. It's covered in chapter 41 of the PT reference guide. Have fun using your outboard!!

Its important that you use parallel ins and outs or delay compensation will not work, at least it was this way in version 7.

In other words, if you are going OUT on OUT A3 to a comp, you must come back IN on channel A3.

Enjoy. Someone please correct me if this is no longer the case.

See here:

for current problems with phase using hardware inserts verses no problems using send/return for outboard gear.
