Default I/O issue with PT11

using a scarlet 6i6 Next gen, with updated drivers and using the focusrite control too. It shows i am getting all my inputs in in the scarlett, which used to work just fine on the pc. Works normally on mac too, my Studio monitors are connected in the back. Inputs are in the front. I can hear spotify/you tube everything.

i can hear the guitar out of my monitors but arming a track to play my guitar lets say, i get "The track could not be record-enabled because it doesnt have both an active input and output assigned"

i can see the plugins work like ez drummer and i can see the data on my midi tracks - BUT NO OUTPUT coming from pro tools only. Did a bunch of experiments with I/O inside pro tools, everything seems good but still no sound output or neither can i arm a track everything else works. Only protools. So i am assuming its an I/O issue.

Any help is appreciated

Have you selected your interface as the audio device to use in PT? Go to I/O setup, delete all existing paths and then select default paths which should end up being your interface.

You give no system info. That is always helpful when asking for help here. Pleased read & follow the 'help us to help you' link that's at the top of every page here.

This would actually be better off in the PT 11 subforum. Maybe a moderator can move it?

Glad it worked out for you. MIDI can be a bear to figure out but ask away in the appropriate forum which if you're asking for help in PT 11 there's a subforum for that in the Legacy section. There's been a lot of changes to PT over the years and the answer for one version may not work in another.
