I was told (via reply to my bug report) that a bug was identified and being worked. that was back on Oct 2, 2020. Have not heard since. Bug # is PT-263823 but I don't know how to see status on that or to know if its really even what I am seeing or not.

I'm actually kind of shocked but 2020.11 seems to have finally fixed the issue I was seeing. It's been really frustrating to not be able to use 2020 all year even though I'm paying the maintenance...
anyway, I worked all weekend on some sessions for a prog rock project (where no song is under 6 minutes long...) and track counts are larger for me (30 + audio tracks -- I know that's not considered large but I saw problems with way less tracks). And none of the display/video corruption issues that I saw before when bouncing tracks. In fact i didn't really run into any issues so far so I'm happy.

My solution to all this Avid “support” is called Nuendo. After twenty-something years of Pro Tools it’s a breath of fresh air and a real time saver.

To each his own of course, but I’m enjoying a stable and flexible system that saves me quite some time.

I'm on 2021.3 and now 2021.3.1 and it's still chuggin along fine. worst part is they don't seem to know what they fixed... but it works again and has for the last 3-4 releases so I'm happy for that.
