Default No MIDI input from Roland FA-06

Hi folks,

I am attempting to use a roland fa-06 as a MIDI controller in Pro Tools (2020.3). The PC is receiving MIDI data (I tested using MIDI-OX), the keyboard is showing up in 'input devices' and the instrument track is record armed, but there is no response/sound.

It has randomly worked once or twice, but I can't get it trigger anything now.

My old Korg K61 works fine.

Any ideas?

I'm running Windows 10, AMD Phenom II X6 1045T Processor, 16GB RAM, SSD Drive, M-Audio 2626 Interface

Thanks in advance,
Rog

I have the Roland FA08. You are using the MIDI out yes, not USB? I have my Roland connected via MIDI into the MOTU ExpressXT interface then to my Mac Pro. Works fine this way in Pro Tools 2020.9. I did have the enable/assign a device to the physical MIDI port of the MOTU in software. You can also check the system settings for MIDi on the Roland to make sure your MIDI transmit is on. I will have to look tomorrow to see my exact settings. I’m wondering if you can enable USB and MIDI at the same time on the keyboard?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply

I'm currently connecting the FA06 via USB (as I did with my K61), but I do have a MIDI port on the 2626, so that is an option.

Figured I'd check whether I had missed something with regards the USB connection before I dive on eBay and grab a MIDI lead
