PT 10.3.9 Complete System Freeze, Plug-In Probelm?

10.3.8 did NOT work. still freezing. It's pretty clear now that it the recent updates to NI and the Avid Effects. I can open a session if one or the other is loaded but not both. Though i'll still get freezes here and there.

I may just upgrade to 11... assuming the avid affects will be updated and in general it'll be more aax ready.

I had similar problems recently. I found out that the NI (SuperCharger and Replika) plugs was the problem. After initially installing Replika, its UI didn't respond at all. Read somewhere that it was recommended to update the graphics card driver. Did that, but should never have done that. Now PT10 froze when using sessions with the NI plugs.

After uninstalling the NI plugs, things are stable again.

It seems like plug-ins that use OpenGL (waves, NI, turning on GPU acceleration with meldaproduction plug-ins) are a bit problematic with Pro Tools. Sometimes it's only evident with older cards, although I don't know why.
