Price drop on Euphonix MC Control $1099

Hey, here's a heads up.

This has been dropped on Sweetwater, and maybe some other dealers. I don't know if this has anything to do with being bought by Avid, or if this means something new is coming out. But I guess it's good thing either way.

The price drop was announced to dealers before the acquisition was... so one thing probably does not have to do with the other...

The acquisition may end up being a good thing for Pro Tools users though... these control surfaces are super useful already- perhaps Avid will make them more useful (kind of like what they did with M-Audio interfaces and M-Powered...) - pure speculation on my part though : )

Apparently they announced a new version of it at NAB that I wasn't aware of.

"Euphonix will be introducing a new Version 2 of the popular MC Control,
slated for delivery at the end of May.

The MC Control v2 will feature an LED‐backlit touch‐screen that provides greater resolution,wider viewing angle, improved rotary encoders and a black
finish on the central strip and jog wheel to match the finish of the MC Transport and MC Color products.

Operationally it is identical to the v1 unit."

...and there's a price drop : )
