We keep coming back to see if anything has changed.

Pro Tools is like the Hotel California. You can check out anytime you'd like, but sadly, you can never leave...

Not much mention of LUNA here. V2 will certainly be forthcoming. It will claim many PT users.

Any particular upcoming feature you expect will draw users to Luna? I have an Apollo x8 at the studio but haven't bothered checking out Luna for a number of reasons. For one, I don't have an Apollo at home and there's no way I'll start a session I can't work on from my home studio. Music work is a mixed bag of DAWs but most VO work I do requires I work in PT to stay consistent with the rest of the chain.

But if/when Luna truly matures it becomes more attractive. I could get another x8 for the cost of a PT Ultimate license and still keep a Vanilla license for client compatibility. The most important thing for me is that my muscle memory stay intact and judging from what little I've seen of Luna, they're making every effor to accommodate Pro Tools power users.

You could always get an Apollo Solo for your home studio to run Luna doesn't have to be an expensive X interface. As long as your mac based also.

UA are ironing out bugs and small requests in V1 updates. V2 will implement many large feature requests and known omissions not included in V1 due to the fact that they decided to release it early at the start of the lockdowns so people could take her for a ride.

Cant even run external control mixer with luna!!! No HUI No Mackie or Eucon support plus many weird work issues so no go until that DAW becomes something better.

And to post utube vids of sales people / Influencers claiming to have gone from PT to Luna is just foolish. No acclaimed pro have left PT for a free half azz DAW. Many with Mac and Apollo have Luna and prolly use it as it is a free software but claiming they have only LUNA in the studio is fake news!

You Do know Jacquire is paid to demo Luna and that he still use PT 90% of the time as I been in his studio a few times.

^ Moving too Luna from PT may take some users several years. This is not a jump it's a slow sift. Thus transitioners have got both platforms. I would suspect the major issue of jumping are mixes done in PT that may require re-mix/recall/alt mixes. Importing stems into Luna from PT takes time to sort. Easy if you mix using multiple busses/groups. Not so good if the master fader is your only bus. Thats why this is going to take several years. At some point some engineers doing the jump will pull the pin on PT around 2022 and advise that there are now no options for remix/alt mixes originally done in PT pre 2021.

Then option is to pay for a month/use PT on a as required basis. Or send it to a boutique ProTools studio. Or keep your sub going till you quit the biz.
