Default When was the last Update? (meaningful that is)

What the heck am I (we) paying an annual renewal or subscription to Avid for?
Because bug fixes, f*** all on meaningful workflow (IMO), no midi enhancements, no ARA, etc is not cutting it!!!!!

1. For Avid execs to live lavish? https://www.pro-tools-expert.com/hom...2-2020-results
2. For a healthy Avid bank balance?
3. For healthy bonuses for Avid employees?
4. Or to take the P*** with us that think "maybe in next the update I'll get something worth the money I give Avid every year"?

Answers on a postcard to Avid (where it'll end up in the trash)

Yeah, there's still lots of work to do but I'll be the first to admit that 2020.03 was a total game changer.

Folder tracks? Some S*** other DAWs have had for years!! And that's it for the YEARS renewal money they get from me.....you're got to be kidding me! I have all those versions and IMO there is jack that is 'meaningful' particularly as Avid DOUBLED the fee. Avid DO NOT listen to their customers they listen to their investors. I understand they have a business to run but good business is listening to those who pay you.

It's not an attitude, it's a justified frustration with Avid IMO. They decided to charge us on a regular basis (renewal with a threat of a price penalty if you let it lapse or a subscription) with the PROMISE of regular updates / features. Well the regular updates / features (not bug fixes) has not materialised for YEARS now but the doubling of the fee has!
So the paying customer doesn't have the right to be annoyed and frustrated?

If any company promises a product in whatever form for fee then does not do what they promised, then doubles the fee to boot and does not keep their customers informed, are either very arrogant or has no respect for their customers.

Life lesson: treat people how you want to be treated (even in business).

I mean, yes. The guy's got a point. This subscription model is not sustainable with such a low level of value provided by Avid.

Hopefully, Avid was trying to raise capital in the short term and the big updates come soon.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Did you take a look at the release notes list I linked earlier? I'm sure with this model there will never be a "big bang" release that has something for everyone, but one of the releases should have something "meaningful" anyway. That was the point of the paradigm change, the features are released when they are ready and not postponed until new major version.

Yes, that seems to be Avid's position.

However, Avid can't be the only company in the DAW/Pro Audio market to act like this for too long. Look at competition. Also maybe we should become shareholders/investors in Avid and part of the board of directors at this point. Lol.

I feel more like a venture capitalist/angel investor for Avid, and less like their customer/consumer.
