Default MIDI Notes Record Short....

Sometimes when I'm recording a piano track using my midi keyboard, the notes ring out while I'm playing and during record like I want them to, but during playback after record, they are all very short notes with no sustain, and show up only as lines as opposed to blocks on the midi map.

Again, this happens sometimes, not all the time. What am I doing wrong?

You might be hitting record after pressed your sustain pedal. I have found in experience that the notes and sustain must begin after record is pushed. Found that out accidentally - i would have my part ready to go, foot on the sustain, and then my passage would come up. Stopped happening once I made ANY change on the keyboard fatter record.
