Losing Input Like Losing Mouse?

I have a 5 button mouse and PT LE 6.1.1 will "lose" contact with the extra functions of the mouse occasionally. I know it's a bug and I just have to minimize and then maximize PT for the mouse to be "found" again. However, very occasionally PT is also "losing" my input signal. Here's what happens: I have a mic in to input 1, I have signal, everything is fine. I'll disengage record, go about editing, minimize, maximize, whatever. I'll then record arm my track again and, whoa, every once in a while there will be no signal coming in, no sound in my headphones, nada. Minimize, maximize or maybe restart PT and violá, signal returns from wherever. When this does happen everything else in PT is good. I can playback, edit, the only thing affected is the input signal. And yes I've tried switching the mic to input 2 when this happens, it's dead too.

Is this a known bug? Has it happened to anyone else? Or am I the lucky one with aliens in my 001?

That one sounds strange. I don't work w/001, so have no solution for you, sorry. But...minimizing/maximizing PT to "kickstart" hardware is totally alien like .
