Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D8820 2.53Mhz Digi 002

Hello!

I`m planning to uppgrade to Digi 002 for a mobile
setup.
I`ve been thinking of a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D8820 2.53Ghz OR 2.8Ghz Both with 533bus 512Ddr Ram.15" XGA, 60gig 5400rpm.
This notebook uses the regular Intel P4`s used by desktop pc`s. NOT Mobile P4`s.
The reasons for this choice is that I can get a VERY good price on it. About $1400.
And it uses as mentioned above regular P4`s,
3 years warranty.
Any experiences?

Hi Svein,

I'm afraid I can't help you with 002/LE compatibility for the Amilo D, but I do have one & will just mention a couple of things..

I has the LOUDEST fan you ever heard, and it's controlled by a sensor, so one minute all is quiet, then VRROOOM! up it fires.. then it stops then it starts.. it's very intrusive.

It has no infra red built in, I know you can get an Irda dongle for next to nothing, but if you're used to going online by just plonking your mobile phone down next to your laptop like I am this is annoying..

I havn't tried to install LE on mine (yet) but I'm sure I will.. let me know how you get on!

Oh, and the couple of points above aside, this laptop totally kicks ass, it's very very fast, putting my desktop to shame!
