Default Track Transfer Question...?

Hi all...
Can anyone tell me if the track transfer application will transfer automation (specifically volume automation) from the original session onto the destination session? I was working on a session when a glitch blew away automation from one track and now I want to take that track from the backup session and put it into the original. Will the automation follow??
Many thanks...

Mark

I thought they wrapped this functionality into the import function in Pro Tools 5. I don't think automation transferes. that's the beauty of it, you can fix a corrupt session and still have your audio files and playlists

Track transfer was a separate utilty in version before 5.0. Now you have various import options. If you choose "Import Tracks", you'll get automation, edits, everything. If you just "Import Audio to Track", you'll just get that file on a new track. If you Import from the Region Bin, you'll have to drag the audi into a track yourself.

Not to be smart, but why don't you just try it?

Because I'm the assistant in a session where the editor was not reachable and I didn't want to have an undoable mishap. Time did not permit me to try an example yesterday.

Not to be smart back, but I didn't think I had to qualify my question this way...
Thank you very much for the reply,

Mark
