Default Upgrading to Yosemite with PT10

Hey guys and gals,

Am I wrong to be worried about upgrading to Yosemite? I´m running PT10 and os 10.7.5 and just want to upgrade my OSX. Am I going to have problems with re-installing Pro Tools? can I just download it back from my Avid page?

Yes, you will have issues. Graphical issues to be specific.

I'd advise not doing it.

Welcome to the community.

Here is the compatibility chart. I advise you follow it closely, which means if you want to upgrade your OS please upgrade to Mountain Lion.

(people have reported not too many issues with Mavericks, but Yosemite is a big no-no. best to stay on the safe side and use Mountain Lion instead)

Mavericks is a better OS for PT10 than Mountain Lion. Yosemite brings benefits unrelated to PT which you might enjoy but the trade-off is that PT's GUI is broken, as already mentioned.

I did this and it killed my computer. Took me 2 weeks to get back up and running. Avoid and use the avid compatibility chart.
