Default MBOX2 MINI Gain knob high rumble!

Hi, how far up do you guy's have to turn up the gain knobs on the MBOX2 MINI until you start to hear any of the noise floor (if any).

It's just I am literally going about 3/4 of the way up and I'm experiencing a lot of noise.

Any insights would be great or input on what may be the cause.

Peace and thanks!

I've heard more than one person voice a concern about noisy Mbox noise-floor, but you have to turn it WAAYYYY up to hear it. I've wondered if we're dealing with a USB issue
(not enough current?) since I don't hear anybody voicing concerns about the Firewire interfaces.

Like I said, anything over 3/4 is what I would consider loud enough in my case here, as it's "bubbling" around at the bottom of the meters if you know what I mean.

It may also be an issue though with USB aswell as the noise I'm talking about is like an low frequency hum but it's comined with a mid to high frequency "digital" noise which I suspect is related to this whole other Saga I've read a little about.

I've done a few projects and it's actually not noticable but when the noise is'nt masked by another signal it just seems "too much" if you know what I mean.

Thanks.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but did you ever resolve your issue? I'm having the same problems.

In general, if I need to turn the GAIN knob past 2 or 3 o'clock, I look for a problem with the incoming signal like a bad mic, bad cable, some volume set too low, etc. Most every preamp I have ever worked with has gotten noisy in the last 20%
