Default plug-in automation an touch-mode

when i adjust a pot to automate some plug-in parameter while in touch mode, the control constantly jumps back to the previous level whenever I stop moving the pot. It's not touch sensetive like the fader. Is that "just the way it is?"

It seems that the only way to adjust a plug-in is really to use write-mode automation.

That's the way it is in Auto Touch mode. when you release, the automation writing stops and the parameter returns to it's previously automated position.
In Auto Latch it continues to write automation untill you stop playback.
I hope this helps.
Peace.
M.

Thanks. I know how auto-touch works. I'm not letting go of the pot, I'm talking about what happens if you just stop moving it for a second with your fingers still on it.

Again I'm guessing but probably has to do with the fact they are not touch sensitive and not motor-controlled.

The rotary knobs are not touch sensitive like the fader caps are. It's the same on the Pro Control. Use latch mode.

BTW...what really is the difference bewteen latch and write mode?

Someone just pointed out "Flip" to me. I guess that's the way to write automation parameters in touchmode.
