Default Upgrade issues (8.0.3cs2 with 10.6.3)

Hi,

I've done extensive searching but not found anything that solves my issue....

I just upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6.3, and PTLE 8.0.3cs2. Pro tools works fine, however any third party or system applications such as iTunes cannot use the core audio manager. In fact, the core audio manager will not launch at all. Whenever I try to open it as standalone or by selecting my 002r in system preferences I get the following message:

"Digi CoreAudio Manager cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Digi Coreaudio Manager works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and MAX OS X. "

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but I still can't get CAM to launch without this error message....weird thing is that PT is working fine!

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Adib

Pro Tools is not supported in 10.6.3. My guess is that CAM is not either.

Hi, I realise that PT isn't supported, however it does work (maybe some bugs that I'm not aware of). The issue is with CAM, and I've seen/heard reports of it working....I just can't get it to! Just wondered if anyone has come across and worked around the issue I'm having......

Hi,

I had the same problem. Here is my workaround

- Do search in spotlight for CoreAudio Manager
- Move it to e.g. the Desktop
- In the sound settings select your digi device e.g. Digidesign MBOX Mini

This worked for me. It seems like the Core Audiomanager doesnt work in 10.6.3. When I launched it manually it launched but didnt find any devices.

Not officially supported but in most cases it does work. In my case too.

Funny thing is that CAM did not work for me until I installed Snow Leopard, and it still works now at 10.6.3..

Basically, don't assume anything as far as CAM functionality is concerned...

There are some specific CAM troubleshooting steps that DTS has recommended in the past, but I don't remember them, sorry... They include deleting a couple plist files etc..

Try searching around in the forum. If I come across it I'll post the link.

Hi, thanks for the info, although I couldn't get it to work with CAM on the desktop....I can't even get mine to launch manually atm.

Weird......good old digi! I found the link and followed the steps but still having the same problem. The link's here if anyone wants it http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread.php?t=54888 - not all the plist files existed on my machine, so I only deleted the ones that I could find. I assume this is because of the latest update to 10.6.3 removing/moving them.

If anyone has any suggestions let me know - I'm at a bit of a loss here!

Thanks
