Midi Signal cut out?

Ive just installed predator plug in into Protools LE8. I'm using an Axiom 49 midi keyboard, a 002 rack and windows xp. This is the first plug in i've installed but when i depress a key on the keyboard there is a click, a delay of a nano second and then the sound of the preset can be heard, however this does not happen all of the time. It also happens sometimes 'mid-chord' but, again, only now and then. I've never had a problem with the plug ins that came with PT8 (ie Xpand2) and i don't think that it is a latency problem, as wouldn't it happen all of the time?). Could there be a breakdown in midi signal perhaps?

Sounds like whatever plug you have is weighing down your cpu's processing...

Try adjusting the playback engine (setup>playback engine). If you have multiple processors I've found it beneficial to DECREASE the number of RTAS processors pro tools is using (I guess it frees up those processors for the cpu to use)
