Re: Error: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)
I've seen something similiar to this on one of my partner's home LE system when trying to do a back-up once. His back-up drive was giving us a "cyclic redundancy check". We used windows check/repair disk error sevice, and it repaired the disk and all was good. It took a long time (overnight I think for a 250G drive) for windows to check the entire drive, but it repaired the error and he's had no issues since. Give it a try. Good luck!!

Re: Error: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)
I also had this error as I was trying to install from the DVD. I read some other posts that indicated that it could be my DVD drive(s) so I decided to download from my digi and try that. During my installation from the download, I got an error message saying that I didn't have enough drive space for the install. So it looks like this was my problem all along. It's curious why the install from the DVD wouldn't give me that message in the first place. It would've saved me a lot of time trying to figure out why it wasn't working.

Re: Error: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)
Now that you have the loading issue solved, run out and get a QUALIFIED hard drive for recording your audio sessions! All I'm seeing in your report is your system drive, and recording to it is NOT recommended or supported.

Re: Error: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)
Just wanted to chime in on this, in case anyone else comes across it.
We had 100+ customers who were experiencing this send us their DVD's, so we could check them. A vast majority were dirty or scratched - a quick cleaning allowed most of them to mount. Obviously make sure that your DVD is as clean as possible before trying to use it! On certain systems, even new DVD's wouldn't mount - we found this was due to older drivers for the DVD drive being installed. Updating to the latest firmware/drivers for the DVD drive allowed it to work properly. In summary - none of the DVD's we received had manufacturing defects. All instances where it failed to mount were due to other factors - the disk being dirty/scratched or the drive not having current firmware/drivers. |
