Artist control + PT Control app (any plans?)

Hi,

The title is pretty self explanatory but here it is anyway.

Currently the Artist Control can not be used in conjunction with the PT Control app. I have tried the soft keys but I find them too small and would rather see pages of soft keys and commands. I can currently source an Artist Control quite cheap and was wondering if there are plans to open up compatibility? So I could use the iPad app in conjunction as a separate 8 faders? Or is the aim to add pages and all like the Artist control and would I be better off looking for and Artist Mix?

I'd love to find an answer that categorically stated intent but any and all opinions are welcome too.

I have mix and i[ad control

it actually does make the mix more versatile..

but yes the ipad softkeys are too small!!

actually I found a good solution is to use Touch OSC - all my go to command have been programmed and in the size and postion I want them - brilliant!

its also rock solid.. and works with androids otoo - even older ones....

I actually run 2 ipads ***now.. one Touch OSC with OSCulator ( never crashes!! ) and control app ( *** unfortunatley artist control isnt reliable for me so my wife keeps "borrowing" that one! )

I love how the control app can recall layouts on the mix - thats extremely useful ( wished they'd have the layout recall as the first screen rather faders types )

PT Control will work with Artist Series I was told at AES today.

We use it daily with 3 artist mix and the Artist Transport but PT Control App won't work when i connect the Artist Control.

Must be a new feature in the version they were showing at AES then?

EDIT: I see, it's ok with the faders and transport, but not the control unit. hmmm, not sure about that. Seems the free app does most (some/all?) of that the Control unit does.

So PT Dock with iPad replaces Artist Control in their mind???
