Default AVID S6 for post

I'm looking into replacing my Artist Mix/Control setup in my home edit room. Anyone know if the S6M10 might be a good choice for post work?

yes, but the price is well above any of the artist series.

The s6 is made for post.

mr. armadillo:

I understand you're asking a serious question, but when I read it I hear, "I need to drive fast, should I buy a Bugatti?"

The S6 looks like a dream machine for post.

from experience I found a motorbike is faster in traffic...

what do you find the limitations of the Artist series to be for you?

i found the drivers are a bit glitchy for things like the EQ in protools..

I respectfully disagree...

S6 looks like a nightmare for post... (maybe if you're *ONLY* mixing... but who does that anymore?) And I have yet to see Eucon work reliably in a professional setting...

Admittedly i have not used one yet, maybe that will change my mind, but I have no desire to.

I have no problem with the fader and metering sections... it's that center section that has me worried... and Eucon ...haha...

I have worked on the 5MC and I thought it was OK... definitely a little lag, the touch screen sucked, and a lot of simple things (spilling VCA's, scroll to track) were harder to do.

Maybe it's just me.

Eucon is really coming along. Artist is the fastest controller for me, and I've used them all, extensively.

i found the Mc mix has saved me heaps of time and has been pretty consistant,,, so yes it is workin at a professional level

in protools the only glitch I have so far is that the EQ button will stop working if u keep changin channels without 'deactivating it'

if u deactivate it between channel changes it seems ok...

i used it more in DP only jus switched to PT 10
