beefing up your sound
Hi all,
Anyone used the Behringer tube products (magician, ultrafex)? How do these things sound? Any recommendations on what gear I could get to fatten my sound for around $350? Thanks micro |

Re: beefing up your sound
I love my Behringer mixer, an amazing value.
As for the rest of their stuff, some love it, but most hate it and wouldn't accept a piece of their kit even if it was offered to them. There are many ways to 'beef up' your sound. I'm not knocking the Behringer Tube Magician or similar devices, I just feel it would be a 'hit or miss' kinda deal. Alternatively, look into T-Racks or a FATMAN tupe compressor/preamp (around $399), or some of the Focusrite platinum series. I've found that T-racks truly warms up my mixes, it's unbelieveable. I even process individual files with it sometimes (just a drum loop, guitar part, etc.) and bring them back into the project. Good luck pk
