Default Memory probs (crashes) with Superior Drummer 2.0 anybody else?

I purchased Toontrack's Superior Drummer 2.0 (latest version) including the Lost NY thingy and Metal Foundry extensions which were on sale currently. Unfortunately, I cannot get them to work in Pro Tools LE for more than about 3 minutes, because PT crashes and everything is lost. To me, it seems like a memory issue, but I have no idea how to get SD 2.0 to work.
- Loading the old Pop/Rock kit (250 MB) from EZDrummer works fine mostly.
- Loading the stock Hit Factory kit (500 MB) works unless I start fiddling with the OH/Room bleed -> crash very likely. Same with the Avatar kit (500 MB as well).
- Loading the Metal Foundry kit (larger, 800+ MB?) crashes before the kit has been loaded completely (all the time).

I am running WinXP SP3 32-bit, Core i5, 4 GB RAM (3 GB reported by XP), pulled my UAD-1s (to increase available memory), Digi 002R, PT LE 8.0.1 (no luck with 8.0.3 on WinXP yet). I limited SD2.0's memory usage in it's settings to 1000 MB, but that doesn't change much.

Any tips on how to reduce SD2.0's memory usage or how to get SD2.0 not to crash all the time?

Thanx,
RiF

How many cores do you use for PT?

I use 3 so other programs have some processing power.

Do you use paging in XP?

What is the exact error message?

Same here. 3 cores assigned to RTAS.

Yes, custom size (2048-4092 MB) on drive C.

I tried to reproduce the exact error on a blank session with a single instrument track containing SD 2.0 only. It I could load MF and other kits without any error. Maybe there's some "interaction" with other plugins... I think I need to investigate some more...

Did you check Toontrack SD2 support?

I have Strike and Steven Slate. So no personal experience here.

Hopefully somebody with SD2 can chime in!

And it happened again (while loading a kit)...
A message box appears:
Title: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Text: "Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Digidesign\Pro Tools\ProToolsLE.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unsual way"
After dismissing the message box with the (only) OK button, PT immediately disappears.

That could be the result of some sloppy programming in PT or SD2 or both.

What version of SD2 do you have?

Actually I "solved" this problem by upgrading to Windows 7 64 Bit (still 4 GB of physical RAM installed, though) and not using NI Kontakt Player anymore. Which change solved which issue, I cannot tell.

so after u upgraded your windows this problem didn't occur anymore? and what about the overall "friendship" between windows 74 bit and pro tools?

p.s. the stuff is that I'm working under windows 7 32-bit and I wonder if upgrading to 64-bit will help to deal with this problem and will not cause other unexpected troubles connected with 64-bit version of the OS.
