Can I delete demo plug auth\'s from iLok?
I have a bunch of 'demo' plugin authorizations on my iLoks that I want to delete. iLok says it can't be done. Is there a hack to fix this? I can't believe there's no way to delete plugins from the iLok. Who designed that?

Buy another ilok to use for your backup authorizations and outdated demos.

Run the demos and once they have lapsed resychronize the iLok and they will be removed.

So I tried the 'install demo and wait for it to run out' strategy, which sounded great. Except none of the three downloadable versions of DINR on the Digi site (I'm on Windows XP even though I'm posting here 'cause there ain't too many folks in the other forum) would work with the iLok authorization I have.
How ironic that I can't install and 'demo' the software that I didn't want to install or demo in the first place. Argh. |

I spent an hour on the phone w/Digi tech support (free for my first 30 days) on Friday and we still couldn't even get the demo auth's that are clogging up my iLok to actually AUTHORIZE any of the demos I downloaded. Tech support thought it was time for a reinstall of the OS & ProTools. Which I just completed. And, still can't authorize any of these demos.
Whatever. Is it me, or does Digidesign seem a little flaked out these days. I've called them three times since I got my HD system and had to wait over 30 minutes each time before I got somebody on the phone. The tech support guy was polite, but I knew more than he did. He thought I could just delete the auth's by going to the iLok site. dave |
