Can I delete demo plug auth's from iLok?

I have a bunch of 'demo' plugin authorizations on my iLoks that I want to delete. iLok says it can't be done. Is there a hack to fix this? I can't believe there's no way to delete plugins from the iLok. Who designed that?

Buy another ilok to use for your backup authorizations and outdated demos.

Run the demos and once they have lapsed resychronize the iLok and they will be removed.

The new ones, yes. But there are older PT6-era demo licenses that were permanent. The only way to get rid of them is to move them to another iLok or replace them with a full license. I would have also liked to have the option to delete demo licenses, but I believe iLok has chosen to not offer the choice because there would surely have been lots of mistakes which they would have had to fix. It has probably just been easier for them to not offer the delete option.

(surely iLok would delete the demo licenses from your account should you want to pay that stupid 25 dollar fee...)

So I tried the 'install demo and wait for it to run out' strategy, which sounded great. Except none of the three downloadable versions of DINR on the Digi site (I'm on Windows XP even though I'm posting here 'cause there ain't too many folks in the other forum) would work with the iLok authorization I have.

How ironic that I can't install and 'demo' the software that I didn't want to install or demo in the first place.

I've had an issue with iLok for a long time and I've debated with certain folks on the DUC about this. It's just another way for PACE to make a dime or two... like "Zero Down Time"... what a load of BS.

I spent an hour on the phone w/Digi tech support (free for my first 30 days) on Friday and we still couldn't even get the demo auth's that are clogging up my iLok to actually AUTHORIZE any of the demos I downloaded. Tech support thought it was time for a reinstall of the OS & ProTools. Which I just completed. And, still can't authorize any of these demos.

Whatever.

Is it me, or does Digidesign seem a little flaked out these days. I've called them three times since I got my HD system and had to wait over 30 minutes each time before I got somebody on the phone.

The tech support guy was polite, but I knew more than he did. He thought I could just delete the auth's by going to the iLok site.
