OT: Poll - Using PT with OS9 or OSX ?

We remain in PTle 5.2.1 and OS9.2.2. We get excellent results(32/8 DAVEC), no crashes, and all the performance we require from our 001.

Both. OSX and PT6 is very cool, many new time saving features. I just posted the other day how excited I was to be able to use some of them, like scroll wheel zooming, 128 tracks, etc. PT 5 on OS9 is very solid, but support, vst plugins, free BF76, etc. have me using PT6 more and more....

I wouldn't go back to OS9 personally but ProTools has only just caught up with OS10.2.3 and it's taken quite a few patches to get there.
I think most studios are following the 'aint broke don't fix' rule while they wait for the guinea pigs to iron out all the glitches.

OS9/5.2.1 forever on my Quicksilver 800. If I do upgrade, it will be to a G5 and 002R. So rather than sell this setup for nothing at that time, this unit will always stay the way it is. At worst, someday I'll have 2 PTLE systems.

OS 9 was introduced in 1999 and is built on Copeland which was started in 1994. My Pro Tools machine is my only machine, and I can't use an OS that out of date. There are too many good, modern features in OS X.
