Red Book VS Orange Book>>what\'s the difference?
I am considering the purchase of a Glyph CD-R recorder drive which contains Yamaha 6416 CDRW innards.
Colleagues have been recommending the Yamaha to make audio CDs from Pro Tools, with either Masterlist, Toast or Jam. However, I just checked the Yamaha website and it says this unit supports Orange Book part 2 platform, but not Red Book. And I know that MLCD supports Red Book CD-DA. Am I right in my understanding that Red Book is the de facto standard for audio CD creation (and that this unit would not be right for me)? Or is Orange Book acceptable, too…and what are they both, exactly??? |
